Wash the Car: How to Get Tips (Fast Washes, Extra Cash)
Only some cars in Wash the Car leave a tip if you wash them fast. Here's how tips pay out, what they're worth, and how the Bigger Tips upgrade raises them.
In Wash the Car, a tip is extra cash on top of a wash — but not every wash pays one. The game's own description puts it plainly: some cars leave a tip if you wash them fast. So two things decide whether you get one: which car pulls into your bay, and how quickly you finish the job.

Which cars pay a tip
The game's description only says "some cars" leave a tip and never names which ones — so treat every customer as a possible tipper. In practice, tips have been seen from both small early-game cars and bigger vehicles, and how much they pay grows as you progress: observed tips have ranged from $2.90 and $15 on early vehicles to a 15k tip on a finished job, a 600,000 tip from a rich "sultan" customer, and even a 500 million tip on a late-game wash with heavily upgraded equipment. Treat those as one-off examples rather than a payout table — amounts are variable and scale with your tycoon's stage and the vehicle's tier.
How to actually receive a tip
- Wash the car fast. This is the stated condition for a tip, so don't let a car sit half-clean while you browse the upgrade menu — clear its dirty spots in one quick pass. Our how to wash faster guide helps here.
- Finish the job. Clean every spot the customer flags — top, sides, front and back — before the car moves on.
- Collect when the car leaves. The tip arrives as extra cash once the cleaned vehicle departs your wash bay. You'll know it worked when "Thanks for the tip" pops up alongside the amount.

If a car leaves without a tip, it either wasn't a tipping car or the wash wasn't fast enough — keep the routine fast and complete and the tippers will pay out when they come through.
Raise your tips with the Bigger Tips upgrade
Your tycoon also has a Bigger Tips upgrade, bought like your other equipment upgrades, and its top tier displays as "Max tips." It's easy to overlook: one player realized mid-session they'd been ignoring it the whole time, maxed it out, and immediately noticed a lot more tip income coming in. That boost is the player's own observation rather than an official rate, but the upgrade is named for exactly this — raise it alongside your other income upgrades instead of leaving it at its lowest tier.
Tips reward exactly what fast washing already requires, so they slot naturally into your routine. For the bigger earning picture, see the cash guide and how to wash faster in Wash the Car.
