How to Build a Car Wash in Wash the Car: What to Buy for a Bay
Build a car wash bay in Wash the Car: buy installations one at a time with wash cash, see what each machine cleans, and equip new bays from scratch.
A wash bay in Wash the Car starts completely empty. You build a working car wash by buying installations one at a time with the cash you earn from washing — foam sprayer, brushes, front jet, dryer, conveyor and more — and each cleaning installation covers a specific zone of the vehicle. Once a bay's installations are in, part of the wash cycle runs on its own — and in one run the dryer even paid during the wash.

Building a bay, purchase by purchase
Every installation is a separate purchase made with in-game cash at the specific bay you're equipping. In practice:
- Wash and bank the earnings. Scrub cars by hand and collect the tips and payouts — that's your building budget.
- Buy cleaning coverage one machine at a time. Early buys on a first bay include the foam sprayer, which covers the top of the car, plus the left and right brushes for the sides and the front jet for the front.
- Check each car for the spots that are still dirty. A cleanliness percentage shows your progress — finish what's left by hand. In these runs the back was the usual leftover, handled separately from the top, sides and front.
- Round out the bay. Other purchases include a conveyor, a car brush and cosmetic touches like a vending machine.

Because purchases attach to the bay you buy them at, a freshly unlocked bay has no machines at all — plan on re-buying the setup there from scratch.
What the equipment does during a wash
| Installation | What it does in the wash |
|---|---|
| Foam sprayer | Coats the top of the car with foam |
| Left and right brushes | Clean the sides |
| Front jet | Cleans the front |
| Water sprayers | In one playthrough they didn't clean a car on their own — they mainly wet the top |
| Dryer | Dries the car; in one playthrough the player's dryer also paid out during the cycle |
Once the machines are installed, part of the wash runs automatically. After buying the front jet, one player noted "this one should be automatic," and in another run a player watched a car become fully clean without doing anything. That doesn't make the job hands-off, though: some installations still only clean part of the vehicle, and the water sprayers from that run didn't wash a car on their own, so plan to finish leftover spots by hand.
Expanding beyond the first bay
As your car wash grows, the game sells more wash locations: a second and third car bay, a helipad zone for helicopters, and boat-wash docks. These unlocks cost large cash amounts, and every new location starts bare — you equip it exactly like the first, one machine at a time.
